If the break-up was messy, and what break-up isn't, try making a Voodoo Doll. Although, Voodoo Dolls are an European invention and did not originate from the actual religion Voodoo, making one can be a purely symbolic gesture and a way to help you deal with some unpleasant emotions.

Do you feel that there are something left unsaid between you and your ex. Why not try making an appointment with your ex on the telephone or just e-mail each other.

Write a romance story where you are one of the main characters who find meets the right person, basically, the person who is not your ex. In addition, make your ex a secondary character, who is not as interesting or as gorgeous as your fictional love interest.

Like the previous tip, try writing a mystery short story. In this mystery you are the detective, and you have to solve the mystery of your ex. How did they die? Who did it? A good way to work through some issues.

Need to focus on something besides the pain of your break-up, take a college course. Make sure it is something that is a little out of your depth like a math or language course.

Ever heard that saying, "The best revenge is living well." One way to live way is to be financially secure, so why not start a break-up or divorce cake business? You ever heard of wedding cake businesses, well this is the reverse and considering all the marriages that end in divorce, well... you see my point.

Volunteer and help someone out who is way worst off than you. Not unusual but still a good tip.

Make wedding dress. If you don't know how to sew, then learn. It can be fun project and the wedding dress can be highly unusual or something that bespeaks of the future and of meeting someone new.

Get a pet. A pet is especially good because sooner or later all your friends will get sick of hearing about your ex.

Run, walk, or just make sure to get some exercise everyday. The time, energy, effort, plus the endorphins from running will help improve your mood immediately.
